Western Wyoming Community College Campus Housing
Location: Rock Spring, WYGeneral Contractor: A. Pleasant Construction, Green River, WY SIP Installer: Glen Kamerman with Kamerman Construction, Bozeman, MT Architect: BKV Group SIP Engineering: Apex Engineering Services, Inc, Bozeman, MT Wind River Hall, Western Wyoming Community College's newest student-housing complex, will be the tallest self-supporting SIPs structure ever built. Premier SIPs were used to frame out the entire 4-story, 28,000-square-foot building envelope, including exterior and interior walls as well as the roof. Being such a tall building, Glen Kamerman, SIP Installer, did an outstanding job using 2 tower cranes to set the panels. Installation of the SIPs began in February and was completed only five weeks later...a testament to the labor savings that Premier SIPs can provide compared to traditional framing techniques. Although bad weather put the project 4 weeks behind schedule, the crew is now placing finishing touches on the campus housing four weeks ahead of schedule. Glen Kamerman, had this to say about Premier SIPs..."We have been using SIPs for the past 13 years, but we've never used them on a project of this size and magnitude. It would have taken us an additional two or three weeks to frame out a building this size if we had used steel or wood frames versus the SIPs." |
